Getting Started
Register for Organized Play
Instructions updated to match website.
The World of Golarion
No rules changes.
Community Standards
Created link to community standards policy on Paizo so that people will go straight to the most up to date version of the policy.
Acceptable Content
Explicitly incorporated the Pathfinder Baseline from the core rulebook
Keep Good Records
Players are now allowed to use the record keeping method that best fits them, provided all the critical information from chronicle sheets is reflected.
Campaign Leadership
Updated Campaign leadership list.
Implementing Changes
Rules Variations
Dealing with Errata
Clarified Implementing Changes and Rules Variation. Added guidance for dealing with Errata.
Player Basics
In Pathfinder Society games, you can either use a pregenerated character or create your own character. You do not need to own any source books to use the options on a pregenerated character you are playing, and may select any currently legal pregenerated character to play.
Option Rarity and Access
No rules changes, but hopefully clarified.
Creating a Character
Moved Character Creation to appendix and renumbered it so that it lines up with the process in the book. Removed large amounts of redundant information.
Pathfinder Training
Pathfinder training simplified to a choice of 5 options (swords, scrolls, spells, generalist, field commission.) Each gives bonus lore at 1st level, bonus skill feat at 5th level. Consumables changed. (See during the adventure.
Purchasing Guidelines
Added Formula access rules, added special material rules for uncommon weapons / armor.
Added rule that items bought as a set cannot be sold back separately.
Adventures
Types of Adventures
Bounties do not give down time
Scenario Tags
Minor changes to Scenario Tags. (mostly informational)
Legal Table Size
Technically a “late season 1 change”
Tables can have no more than 6 PCs.
Tables with pregens available can have as few as 2 PCs.
Tables with no Pregens available can have as few as 3 PCs.
Players running to make a legal table (for no credit) should not be reported, and earn no AcP
Before the Adventure
Choosing a character.
No major rules changes. Attempted to clarify Pregen character assignment.
Because of changes to boons, characters can freely choose their faction before an adventure. If no faction chosen, default to Horizon Hunters.
Issues that may occur in the course of play.
Moved to Appendix
Challenge Points
Explanation simplified.
Tiers and Subtiers replaced by “Levels” and “Level Ranges”
New chart added for determining level of added Pregens.
During the Adventure
School Consumables
School Consumables list changed.
Schools only add one item
Scrolls are only available at level listed.
Field Commision agents get no items.
Table Variation
Table variation is now a bulleted list listing what the GM can and cannot change.
GMs *cannot* alter PC mechanics or prohibit legal Character Options.
Additional table variation discussion moved to Appendix
Ethical Infractions and Infamy
Clarified Infamy Warnings.
Clarified that actions sufficiently disruptive should be addressed with OOC sanctions, not infamy.
Infamy will no longer be removable with always available boon purchase.
Further discussion moved to Appendix
After the Adventure.
Chronicle sheets and Applying Credit
Gathered all rules in one place and (hopefully) clarified them.
Downtime
Downtime is now explicitly linked to number of XP. Most characters get 2 days down time per XP. Field Commissioned Agents get 3.
Minor clarification to how blocks of downtime get spent.
Fore every Downtime Unit (8 day period.) you can only roll once per type of task. Which means you can only begin 1 craft project per block.
Fame
Scenarios no longer grant fame. Things that are currently buyable with fame will continue to be available for a short period, but will then either go away, or become free.
Experience Points
Clarified that adventures that give more than 4 XP should have their rewards split into equal chunks, each granting 4 XP.
Filling Out a Chronicle Sheet
Chronicles no longer require real world names and signatures.
Rewards.
Faction Boons – Pathfinder Society (2nd edition)
Currently purchased Faction Boons will transfer over to a new system. Until then they continue to function as before, with a few changes.
Boon Slots are gone. All boons are always applied. Some still prohibit you from benefiting from more than once per scenario.
Advanced, Promotional Boons only benefit from one of each.
Ally boons cannot be used if they would put a new pawn on the board, and you have already placed 2 this scenario.
Crafter’s Workshop reduces crafting setup time to 1 day,
Heroic Resurgence gives a flat bonus.
GM Rewards
GM Credit (Hopefully) clarified.
GM Glyph Rewards
Added GM grading Rubric
